Spider wove the web that brought humans the first symbols of the alphabet. The letters were the angles of her web. One of the animals asked her why all of the lines looked like angles, Spider replied that in time humans would become more complex and there would come a time when the ‘Ones’ to come would be much more complex and they would not remember how to read the picture stories. They would learn to make records of their ‘Walk of life’.
Spider’s body resembles the number eight, a segmented body with eight legs. She is the symbol of infinite possibilities of creation. The eight legs represent the four winds of change and the four directions of the medicine wheel. Spider reminds us not to get caught up in the web of illusion, and that fate is not set in stone. Humans have the propensity to get tangled in their ...

Wolf is the teacher, that of wisdom and knowledge. He is the teacher of new ideas and thoughts. The moon is his power ally and his howling is a call to the ancients. Wolf takes one mate for life and is a very strong advocate of family. Seek out your elders and ask them to tell you about your ancestors, when you learn about your heritage and culture then you will have a better understanding about yourself.
One of Wolf’s greatest gifts is to teach the lesson of loneliness. He urges you to seek out quite places that make you feel safe and offers a special power for yourself, void of all distractions and other people. When you can master being comfortable with yourself and find comfort in solitude then you will be able to open up to the teaching of the ancients. Only when you are able to lose all ...

Fox has many attributes and is a very cunning observer. He is very astute at the ability to disappear into the cover of his surroundings. Not only is he very cunning and observant he also has the integration in swiftness of thought and action. These abilities allows him to see situations that are unfolding at the moment. As a great invisible observer he is not distracted by things around him. His awareness allows him to make split action decisions when the time comes.
Fox’s ability to be unseen makes him a great protector of his family unit. With his stealthiness he is able to view all things without anyone noticing him, allowing him the freedom to make choices without considering the consequence of others.
There are times when it is important to become an unseen observer. If Fox has snuck into your thoughts today, then he has a very important message for ...

Last Weekend while working out in the yard I had an unfortunate episode with a very nasty little insect referred to as a ‘Cow-killer’ wasp. If you know what one of these are, then you probably are familiar with the intense and nasty sting they can inflect.
At the time I was walking around the backyard barefooted and apparently it was in the grass. I must have stepped near enough to it that the grass bend down low enough for it to sting me on the ankle. The unbelievable pain instantly shot up my leg, feeling like I had been stuck with a red hot poker. As the seconds passed by the pain and burning got worse. I was watering when this happened and my first reaction was to apply the cold water to my foot. It didn’t help a bit.
It took me a few minutes to think as the pain ...

Hawk is the Messenger of the Great Spirit. He teaches you to look at your surroundings and observe everything around you. He is trying to get your attention for there is a very important life message for you. Hawk will bring into your minds view things that you have been missing. Many times there is a life situation occurring or about to occur and if your not paying attention you will miss a great opportunity for yourself.
If you have Hawk coming to you in the physical, then you need to look inside of your self. Are you using the power that you process, the power of intuition? Are you having trouble finding the solutions to immediate life situations because you have become too involved and not using your power of observation? You are only as powerful as your capacity to perceive, ...

Native American lore teaches that Turtle is the first symbol for our great Mother Earth. It teaches that She belongs to both the Water and the Earth. It is Turtle that brought up mud from the bottom of the oceans to create the first land. Turtle represents the true essence of creativity. All life is created of the Earth and all life shall return. We must remember to respect and honor the gifts that Turtle gives to us everyday. Be mindful of the cycles of give and take. The Earth Mother gives us everything we need to sustain our lives and we must remember to give back to her. Do not abuse her.
In todays world there is way to much of that going on. The turbulent times we are experiencing on planet earth right now is a reminder to us ...
